Screen Sharing Tool with Indicator
The Screen Sharing Tool is a web application that allows you to share your computer screen or a specific application window directly in your browser. It includes a clear indicator to let you know when sharing is active. Here's how it works: Start Sharing Screen: Click this button to initiate the screen sharing process. Your browser will prompt you to select which screen, window, or browser tab you wish to share. Once you grant permission, the selected content will be displayed within the tool. Stop Sharing Screen: After you start sharing, this button will appear. Clicking it will stop the screen sharing session and turn off the display of your shared content. Screen Sharing Indicator: This visual indicator clearly shows you the current status of your screen sharing. It will display "Screen sharing active!" in green when your screen is being shared, and "Not sharing screen." in red when it's inactive or stopped. This helps ensure you're always aware of your privacy status. Live Feed Display: Your shared screen or window will be shown live in the video area, allowing you to see exactly what is being shared. Error Messages: If there are any issues accessing your screen (e.g., if you deny permission or no display is available to share), a helpful error message will be shown to guide you. This tool leverages your browser's built-in capabilities (MediaDevices API) for screen sharing, meaning your shared content is processed locally within your browser and is not sent to any external servers, thereby protecting your privacy.
